![]() | Cannon 450 The Canon 450D created by Canon is one of the leading single reflex lens cameras and has been labelled the best introduction cameras for beginners. It contains a 12.2 megapix,a large view finder and many technical advances that help to create the perfect image. When camera training we were advised to use the manual settings which proved a success when capturing my images as I was able to choose specifically the specific settings I wanted. Changing my ISO, shutter speed and my focus. However when using this camera i found difficulty in capturing an image at its full as the screen I found although wide to still be a bit small. We also had camera training with the newly developed 550D cameras in which not only does it have all these features of the 450d and 500d but also has the technical advance of recording. However it is clear that this has very far to go as many have described the sound quality as having poor sound quality.' |
ISO-The ISO is the sensitivity to light as the higher the the ISO the more light the greater the films sensitivity to light. This meaning the ISO will be controlled on the weather of the day as the darker the night the higher the ISO as more light will be needed and the lighter the day the less light is needed.Through out my photo essays i had to vary in type of ISO as during my second photo shoot my ISO was quite low however during my first photo ISO had to be changed constantly as the wether came to change constantly.
Depth of field
When out with the 450d I created some depths of field images which enabled me to manipulate the audience into viewing a certain object or statement. I chose for my example of this to use the opposing depth of field images as it shows what both focuses would have looked like. However I believe that by having the cups in focus and the customers not connotates that the customers ignore the practical work of the workers and carry on with their lives.
Image A Flyer To promote our production company and our documentary I decided personally to pitch a flyer to my group. I decided to use a rhetorical question that has connotations of both elements negative and positive views towards greyhound racing. This as well as brining the audience to come to question the image it also breaks the 4th wall. The font that I used also had an effect on the way the audience perceived the image as the font that I used held connotations of love and friendship where this contrasted with the muzzles and cage that is within the background. In addition to this I decided to make the flyer stand out and catch the eye of the audience as I enhanced the volume of the bright colours. Although this is photojournalism I took this inspiration from Errol Morris who is a documentary filmmaker who is well known for his brightly coloured sets.It also represents our production company with the use of the Yola address on the top line promoting the company name but also convincing people to interact.

Highlighting the Image colours
I wanted to highlight colours to catch the eye of the audience i done this by changing the vibrance of the image. However when doing this i found my image became distorted as i found that the vibrance was too high.So to overcome this problem i changed the vibrance down agin to 17 in which i found to be a success. To do this i selected the image-adjustments and then finally selected the vibrance.

Raw editing
When creating my images i had to edit them on raw images i will be showing some aspects on how i edited some of my images on photoshop, creating the look that i was inspired to take.Although raw creates greater quality images the disadvantage of using raw is that it contains a lot of megabits for each image taking up a lot of your memory.

As you can see above the image before i edited was very dark and the colours needed to be highlighted as it was not i had in mind when taking the image. To do this i increased the fill colour and the exposure to take aspects of the dark areas out of the photo. In addition to this i increased the vibrance of the greens which created the look of a brighter morning.
