Greyhound Racing: Humane or cruel?

Greyhound dog racing is a sport that is often overlooked by people. However, there is quite a bit of controversy in it. Quite a lot of people are against dog racing as they feel the dogs are not treated well and get abused. We can talk to people from RSPCA , Greyhound adoption/rescue centres,  officials at Greyhound races, owners, and spectators at the track. Our goal in the documentary would be show both side of the argument and allow the viewers to make up their own opinions based on the evidence we show.

 Therapeutic horse riding

Having worked as a volunteering at a therapeutic riding centre the topic is of great interest to me. Horse riding has always been around and the idea that it actuals is able to help the physically and mentally disabled serves as an interesting topic for a documentary. After doing a little research I discovered that there is a therapeutic riding centre in Hampshire just outside of Winchester that would be ideal for filming and getting iinterviews. This idea would have further been developed but we found it difficult to have a creative documentary about disabilities as it is a topic that is shown and done on television quite often.

 Cancer treatment:

A look into the current debate about whether treatment should be given to terminally ill cancer patients to prolong a life of quality or if it is a waste of NHS money. We really liked this idea for the controversial elements and that it was a current topic that we could shed some light onto. Unfortunately we would not get permission to film in any hospitals due to health regulations therefore we had to let this idea go.
