This is my photo-essay, a collection of twelve images consisting of themes of despair and isolation, and yearning to find hope again. I shot at Southampton, and ventured out of high street in search of the run-down, derelict streets which would enforce my message. 

I shot in a poetic mode, capturing lyrical images with a message behind them. The ending result is a storybook of the despair at Southampton, where ultimately hope can be found. I was inspired by Walker Evans's images, how he shot in a poetic mode, capturing an powerful and lyrical essence that perfectly blended together.
