Here are 13 images that I have selected to use for a second Photo Essay. My aim was to develop my skills further from the 1st Photo Essay I did. This one focuses on the crowds that christmas brings, as well as the different lighting to create mood within the images.

This was part of my experiment with shooting images in the dark using a 550D. I have modified them using RAW processing, where I mostly changed the white balance to shift the orange colour away and to get a more realistic colour within the image. I experimented capturing shadows and silhouettes as well as depth of field which you can see in images 8, 9 and 10.

I like how I have captured relationships such as image 7 where theres a child and his father. I like how its represented through the dark silhouettes showing the differing sizes of each person and how they are very similar. 

Image 4 takes a look at people waiting for the ice skating to begin. Its full of different faces and expressions which are all observational mode as they were unaware I was taking their Photo. This relates back to practioners such as Walker Evans.

Overall, I feel I have developed my skills further in documentary further and would like to continue this throughout the project and becoming more daring when it comes to capturing people in their individual environment.
