PRE PRODUCTION
'A 20-25 minute documentary on the issues in Greyhound racing. There is a lot of negative portrayal to Greyhound racing dues to cases of animal abuse such as steroid use, violence, and neglect after the dog is no longer able to race. In our film we aim to show why this sport has so much bad press surrounding it but our film will also portray the positive side; enthusiastic owner, fans of the sport, and trainers who treat their dogs well. The aim will be to show a balanced argument presenting both sides to the Greyhound racing industry which would allow the viewers to make up their own opinions based on the evidence presented in the film.'
We aim to explore these major themes:
- Gambling
- Greed
- Obsession
- Owner-dog companionship
- Exploitation
- Competition
